Core Computer Curriculum:

4 Weeks per month- 1 per week of the month, one hour duration class

  1. Class- Computers for Cavemen
    1. What are the features of a computer that you should know?
    2. Introduction to hardware and software
    3. Assume the user has never touched a computer before
  2. Computers for Communication
    1. How to use software like: Email, Zoom, Wifi, Bluetooth, etc
    2. Using a web browser to find reliable, reputable information
    3. Education about scams and AI
  3. Computers for Creativity
    1. Finding and installing apps for content creation
    2. Games, Music, Video, LLM/AI
  4. Computers in Context
    1. Other applied computer skills
    2. Using the web browser to do research
    3. Troubleshooting the computer itself
    4. Team Troubleshooting (see below)

Additional Courses

Create other extracurricular classes in addition to the core computer skills. Might be merged with Tech Tuesday, or every other week between the core curriculum.

  1. Group Googling
    1. Learn how to do research and find answers to questions, in a learning-together context
    2. Wiki-race?
  2. Team Troubleshooting
    1. Bring you non-personal issues to share with the class
    2. Everyone will have a chance to solve the issue, and will learn how to in the end
  3. Sponsored Learning
    1. If you have a specific topic that you need trained to a group of people, a special course can be arranged
