Using DigiKam
DigiKam is a tool for viewing and sorting a library of image and movie files.
Here are some descriptions for performing certain actions
Importing an album/folder
To view an imported album, see step 4.
- In the Import menu options at the top, select Add Folder.
- In the new popup box, navigate to be inside the target folder of images you wish to add.
- Click Choose.
- On the left side of the window, find the folder under the Albums side tab
- Adding folders may take time to load based on the quantity and quality of images being loaded.
Viewing pictures in time
The Timeline tab on the left shows a view of calendar dates which you can select, and it will display the images captured on that date in the middle.
You can also use the Dates tab, which is different from the Timeline tab in that you can select multiple dates to view by holding Control and clicking on the calendar.
Adding tags and labels
Labels and Tags are added on the right side of the interface, and filtered on the left side.
For custom tags, the Tag Manager interface provides options to make and delete tags.
Add tags by selecting an image and using the menus options on the right to check or uncheck the tags to be applied. Dont forget to save!
Filtering with tags and labels
Click the tags groups on the left to show all images in your albums containing the tags. (You can also use the filter feature for a similar effect.)
Click the options to select or unselect the desired filters.
